GTN-P launches new Data Platform and Website

Potsdam, Germany

On Monday, 19 January 2026, GTN-P officially launched its new Data Platform and Website. After months of intensive planning, design, coding, and testing GTN-P is proud to announce the launch of a major milestone: the new GTN-P Data Platform. The platform features a Frontend (your gateway to the data), a Backend allowing registered users to update and upload permafrost data, and a robust infrastructure designed to ensure seamless, long-term operation. More information about the Data Platform can be found in the Data section of this newly designed website.

Hosted at the AWI Computing and Data Center, the platform guarantees high performance, reliability, and scalability. It also offers a comprehensive API for programmatic access and an ID Resolver to maintain stable, persistent links across GTN-P measurement sites, datasets, and related resources.

The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) today published an online news article in the press section of its website.
